Renewal

Why renew on time?

Renewing before or on the policy expiry protects your No-Claim Bonus (NCB), keeps coverage active, and avoids higher premiums or extra paperwork. There is typically a grace period (varies by insurer) — but don’t rely on it. Renew early to avoid lapses.

Documents checklist

Have these ready to speed up renewal. If you don't have a copy, we can still give indicative quotes using registration number and basic details.

RC copy
Vehicle registration document (essential)
Current policy
Policy document or policy number (if available)
Photos
Front, rear and odometer (for used bikes)
Owner ID
Aadhaar or Driving Licence
Tip: If you don’t have a policy copy, provide the registration number and approximate IDV/price — we'll give indicative quotes and confirm after verification.

Step-by-step renewal process

1. Request a renewal quote

Fill the renewal request with name, phone, registration number and (if available) policy details. We’ll pick this up and assign an agent.

2. Compare insurer quotes

We collect quotes from multiple insurers and present options — choose the best price and add-ons that fit your needs.

3. Provide documents

Upload or share RC, policy copy, owner ID and bike photos. For online renewal, digital copies (photo/pdf) are sufficient.

4. Payment & policy issuance

Pay using your preferred method — we’ll confirm payment and email the renewed policy. Physical copies (if requested) will be couriered.

Timing: Typical issuance time after payment is within 24 hours, depending on insurer verification.

Add-ons explained

Add-ons increase protection beyond a basic third-party/own-damage cover. Common options:

  • Zero Depreciation — higher claim payout for parts (reduces depreciation deduction).
  • Roadside Assistance — towing, on-spot repairs, fuel delivery.
  • Engine Protection — covers mechanical/electrical failures not due to wear & tear.
  • Personal Accident Cover — higher indemnity for owner-driver.
Advice: For new bikes, zero-dep & engine protection are useful; for older bikes weigh the add-on cost vs. bike value.

No-Claim Bonus (NCB) & Claims

NCB is a discount on own-damage premium for each claim-free year. Typical points:

  • NCB increases with each claim-free year up to a cap (e.g., 50%).
  • NCB is applicable only on own-damage component, not on third-party premium.
  • If you make a claim, NCB may be reduced or lost — check insurer terms.
Transfer of NCB: When switching insurers during renewal, NCB can usually be transferred — provide proof of previous policy/NCB certificate if requested.

Frequently asked questions

Short lapsed policies may be renewed within a grace period (varies by insurer). If the lapse is long, inspection or additional checks may be required and premiums can increase.
Yes — we can provide indicative quotes with registration number and basic details. Policy copy helps finalize exact premiums and NCB verification.
IDV (Insured Declared Value) is the insured value of the bike. We suggest choosing an IDV close to on-road price for comprehensive coverage; lower IDV reduces premium but increases cash burden on total loss.
